When you have our service department at Hamilton Ford in Clovis install a new set of tires on your vehicle, it's important to make a mental note that you'll return within the next year for a tire rotation. Tire rotation service helps to ensure the longer life of your tires and prevent uneven wear on either the front or rear tire wheels. Uneven tread wear on tires occurs when tires on the wheel axle receive engine power faster than those that aren't. A professional tire rotation service involves changing front tires to rear or those on the left to the right side of the vehicle, depending upon your vehicle's manufacturer recommendations regarding prolonging the life of your tires. Failure to rotate tires may even void the warranty on new tires, so we want our Hamilton Ford customers to be conscientious about having this done. Rotated tires last longer and promote safer driving. Schedule your appointment today!
When Two Differentials are Better than One
Different Differential Setups for Different Types of Drives The standard two-wheel drive has one differential that divides the torque power it receives from the transmission and delivers the power to the wheels as needed to allow turning. The outside wheels travel a longer distance at a faster speed. The differential gears allow for that difference in torque usage. In a four-wheel drive, both the front and the rear axles have a differential to divide power between tires. Four-wheel drives are meant for off-road applications where mud, rock, or streams may cause slippage of one tire or another. The differentials divert power to the wheels that hold traction allowing the vehicle to move forward through the slippery terrain. However, using the four-wheel drive on a cement driveway brings a stiff drive feel. Hence, most modern four-wheel drive vehicles can slip between four-wheel and two-wheel drive. Ford F-Series. A Long Tradition of Trucks
What makes a truck embody greatness? Is it superior capability? How about extreme toughness and durability? Perhaps the greatest trucks are those that offer plenty of hauling and towing capabilities and can traverse through mud, sand, snow, and more, with ease, taking a beating. Or maybe the best trucks are those that combine the ultimate in luxurious motoring with an array of available safety features and technologies in addition to being off-road-ready and ready for the job, whatever that may be. Ford Heritage Henry Ford revolutionized the "horseless carriage", (aka automotive) industry when in 1913 he developed the assembly line system. The automobile age began, and American culture and life was changed forever that year. The pickup truck is practically as old as the first widely-available motorcar, the Ford Model T. In fact, people needing work trucks devised a revised model T, which led to Ford releasing the "Model T Runabout with Pickup Body" in 1925. Years later, in 1948, it released the first F-Series Pickup truck. The Ford F-series line, then, really traces back to the Ford model T, which in turn traces its roots back to the birth of American motoring as we know it. Popular for over fifty years, the F-Series has captured the hearts of many an American - and for good reason. Each Ford F-Series generation has sported rugged good looks, toughness, and amazing capability. Mustang is World's Best-Selling Sports Coupe in 2015
Earlier this morning, Ford issued a press release announcing that, in its first year of global availability, the Mustang became the best-selling sports coupe in the world in 2015. Despite limited availability in major markets like the UK and China, Ford sold around 110,000 Mustang coupes last year, more than any competitor. Additionally, the automaker delivered around 30,000 Mustang convertibles, bringing total nameplate sales to more than 141,000; making the Mustang the best-selling two-door sports car in the world by far. "U.S. consumers have enjoyed interesting foreign sports cars for decades, so it was time for the Americans to return the favor with the worldwide launch of the new Mustang," says Erich Merkle, Ford sales analyst. "Global markets have responded in a huge way. Ford Mustang was the only sports coupe in the world with more than 100,000 units registered last year."
